Katie's Serpentine Swim for OXPIP
On Saturday 14th September 2024, OXPIP's own Katie swam half a mile of London's Serpentine to raise vital funds for the Oxford Parent-Infant Project.
"The sun was shining at 8.15 as I went into the Serpentine. I hadn't realised participants had been advised to wear a wetsuit - I was happier in a costume! The water was fresh but invigorating: I loved it. Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me; for your messages of support and generosity, which will enable parents and babies access to therapy and have brighter futures. Thanks to my daughter Mya and my friend Emma for coming to support me on the day and getting up so early!”
Katie completed her half mile in 0.25.99. A huge thank you to Katie for all her efforts and to everyone who has helped raise an outstanding £1217.50 for the Oxford Parent-Infant Project.
Increasingly research demonstrates the importance of taking care of expectant mothers, parents and the unborn baby. OXPIP receives no statutory funding; we rely on finding funding to continue to provide and develop our services for parents and babies.
